Jupiter Conjunct Sun/Sun Conjunct Jupiter Synastry
Hey there! It’s me again, back with some more synastry tea hehehe….I was originally going to publish this on Thursday in time for Jupiter day but seeing as I am a mercurial messenger and today is Mercury day it is only right I publish this today since I spent most of the morning drafting this.
Now, whilst single synastry aspects are not enough alone to determine the overall synastry of two people as the whole chart must be assessed, I would like to shine a light on Jupiter conjunct the sun particularly because 1. I have experienced this energy & 2. I think it’s important to shine a light on how in the long-run this energy can become draining if you don’t have the strongest boundaries like myself or lack awareness of when to stop giving.
I will try and give my honest thoughts on this aspect and as I have mentioned before the house in which this overlay occurs provides further context and so does the aspect. But when simply looking at the aspect I would like to shine a light on my experience of this energy and this is a massive disclaimer I am not saying that this is how you will word for word experience this energy but this is also a caution of how this aspect can lead to an unequally yoked relationship should one not be aware of how the energies can play out. Now if you have been following me for a while, you will understand that women and children will forever have my heart maybe it’s my Pallas and Vesta in Cancer but I am always going to advocate for these groups.
So, without further ado, I will get right into it. Over the years, whilst mainstream astro may refer to Jupiter as a benefic planet and when I first started my astro journey I too believed that Jupiter solely was a benefic planet. But over time, I have come to agree with the thought that Jupiter can infact be a malefic planet and I will explain why. Jupiter as planet is known to expand whatever house it is placed in and typically the expansion, we typically hear of in mainstream discussion is the positive aspect of luck, abundance, and so forth.
But what we don’t really hear much of is how this abundance, luck and more can also quickly turn into the excessive side of Jupiter, the overzealous not knowing when to stop side of Jupiter. The side of Jupiter that knows no bounds because they rely on luck and faith.
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and many who have personal placements in this sign often times embody the archetypes of what we know Sag energy to be, but when examine cases such as Tiffany Haddish in recent times who has been going through it legally, and whilst she is currently experiencing Saturn transits, we can also see how the over-reliance or overstatement of being lucky can land us in precarious situations. I also personally know a Sag sun quite well who has also landed in precarious situations partly because of his over-reliance on Jupiter’s luck and favour and also being the ladies man that he is loool he embodies qualities and traits of the Roman mythology archetype of Jupiter who was a “philanderer with a wandering eye and he had several affairs with different women while married to Juno.” Side note I also put the “precarious situations” he has ended up in down to his Venus in Capricorn/Cap stellium and his Aries moon its giving cartel boss loool!
But anyway, you get the drift that Jupiter has an excessive side that must not be overlooked. And when this planet makes a conjunction in a synastry chart to the sun it can be said that Jupiter will expand the qualities of the sun. And whilst the sun is solar energy and potent on its own, Jupiter provides another layer of expansion and when this conjunction occurs this could suggest that the particular element of the sign is emphasised even more. In my case, it was fire energy and when we visualise how fires start the initial flame is ignited quite quickly, and spreads rapidly but also burns through a lot in process very quickly.
One faithful night, I pulled up the synastry chart of me and my love interest on Time Passages and came across an explanation of this very conjunction which notes that “it is a joyous and expansive connection with the Jupiter person (me) giving more to the solar person and taking pleasure in the solar persons enjoyment of the said gifts”. Before I continue, it should be noted that Pisces rules my 7th house making Neptune the planet ruler the 7th house is home to my Pisces descendant so I struggle with the saviour complex thing/wanting to help people out so again I know I OVERLY do more than I should do. But outside of that, it recently dawned on me how much this solar person’s life has changed and the types of experiences they have had since we have connected.
The excessive side of Jupiter that I spoke about above and the cautions that should come with Jupiter connections in synastry is what I am referring to here, and perhaps if you don’t mind this then that’s also fine but a year down the line, I have realised how much of me and my Jupiterian energy I have given to connection without being poured into the same way or as the bible refers to being equally yoked. I honestly think for women, this aspect may not be so joyous as described in the long run as you may give give give (Jupiter’s excess) without receiving much…
As stated above, if you do not mind this or actually love being this person then that’s fine. But for the women (mainly because it’s my soul purpose to champion the causes of women and children), I think this aspect may be enjoyable for the first few months/years but once you awaken from Jupiter’s excess and realise that you may not have experienced the same transformations or changes you will begin to question a lot. I am also not here to bash this aspect in any shape or form, I simply seek to provide awareness into the not so pretty side of this aspect. It is also undeniably that you will have some great moments because I had this too and did new things with the solar person but ultimately my life has not transformed or for better words, I have not experienced the same overflow of a filled cup like they are which has essentially left me feeling drained, and just holding back. Overall, I actually like pouring into people’s cups but this is conditional when the overflow is reciprocated. Like the Hoodhealer mentioned in her world unconditional love is reserved only for children and I get it, I believe the same too.
Also, as a Woman, I am always going to want to see other Women win and I do believe that if a Woman is the solar person and the Male is the Jupiter person this aspect may work out favourable for marriage or short-term romances.
I do believe that synastry is also what we make it, and many esteemed astrologers also argue that if couples want to put in the work to overcome obstacles and karmic debt, they can but they must be doing the inner work as Siriusguidance says.
